The annual Tall Timber Days Parade will be on Sunday, August 4th at 1 PM through downtown Grand Rapids.GRGA will have a float again this year and your gymnast is invited to participate!
If you would like to join the fun, please email or sign-up at the gym. Each child will receive a goody bag of treats from the gym.
Gymnasts should wear their favorite leotard and shorts. Boys can wear a t-shirt and shorts. The theme for this year's float will be the Olympics and the children should wear red, white and blue.
We also encourage the children to bring along a water bottle. Children can be dropped off at the fairgrounds between 12:30-12:40 PM and then picked up at the fairgounds, after the parade ends. GRGA Staff will supervise the children, participating children need to be comfortable riding the float without a parent/guardian.
In order to participate, we need each family to complete two separate waiver forms. We have one for GRGA, which can be found at www.grgymacademy.com or printed from this email below, please turn into the gym prior to the parade. · Thank you for participating in this year’s parade! Due to construction on 3rd Ave. our route this year will start from the Fairgrounds-- South on NE 2nd Ave.--West on NE 6th- St.—North on NW 2nd Ave—ending NW 11th St.
·· All individuals that need to park non-parade vehicles in order to join/ride floats or to drop off children will enter the Parade Gate 1 (off NW 14th Street). Please make sure to leave any extra vehicles there. Note: Do NOT park on the pavement where we will be lining up.
o Parents who are dropping off children to join floats will enter Gate 1, find the correct float in the staging area and then exit again through Gate 1.
o Please tell your participants they CANNOT enter the fairgrounds via Gate 2 (the round-a-bout entrance).
· There will be parade officials and assistants to help direct you at the entry gate, helping with car parking, and directing you to your line-up spot in the staging area. · Please be at your unit at 12:30, as the parade will start 12:40pm sharp. The fairgrounds bathrooms will be available with a garbage can outside the building if needed.
NO ONE is to join the parade once entries are in route.
