Frequently Asked Questions
Does GRGA offer a free trial class? In order to provide the best class experience for the students enrolled, we do not allow a free trial class. However, if after the first class, your child’s experience is not what you expected, we will refund you for the remaining classes of the four-week session.
What if I have to miss a class? Notify the office when you are unable to attend your regular class. We offer one makeup class per four-week session if we are notified of the absence in advance. Makeups must be completed during the session the class was missed unless approved by the office. (They do not carry over into a future session). No refunds or credits for missed classes. Note: Makeup classes cannot be guaranteed as many classes are full. We do allow gymnasts to make-up their absence through Open Gym and all open gym make-ups must be registered for online in advance.
What should my child wear? Girls should wear a leotard with or without tight shorts if they are able. If a leotard is not an option for your child, a tank top or t-shirt tucked in and shorts is permitted. No two-piece outfits that expose the stomach. Boys can wear shorts/sweats with a t-shirt tucked in. Longer hair must be secured back. Students are not allowed to chew gum or wear jewelry (stud earrings are okay). No dance leotards with an attached skirt.
Can I stay and watch during class? Yes, please visit our "Viewing" link from the home page for recommendations. If your child is age 4 & under, we recommend that you stay for the duration of class to assist with bathroom breaks or other unexpected events. Parent/Child classes require an adult to actively assist in the gym during the entire class. Please arrive no more than 5 minutes before your child’s class and exit promptly following class Can I still register after a session has started? Yes! We continue to take registrations at any time after the session has begun and will prorate tuition accordingly. If you register online, we will be sure to prorate tuition and add any multi-student or multi-class discounts before we process your payment.
How do I know when my child is ready to move-up?• GRGA coaches are continuously monitoring each child’s progress and skill level throughout each class. When the instructors feel that your child has mastered the necessary requirements to move-up, our office staff will contact you via e-mail or phone to let you know. • If your child is ready to move-up and the class for the next level is full, your child will be moved to the top of the wait list and be able to continue in their current class until a spot becomes available. You will be notified immediately when a spot opens up in the new level.
Anything else I need to know? Gymnasts should wait on the chairs inside the gym prior to their class starting. No tumbling, running or horseplay while waiting. Students of all ages must wait inside the building until their ride arrives. Students should be picked up promptly following class. Students should report any accident or injury to the instructor. Please keep sick children home (students and waiting siblings). Gymnasts may not participate in class wearing a cast, brace, or elastic wrap. They may return to class when they are fully able to use that body part without means of support. In most cases, a doctor's Return to Participation form will be required stating no restrictions. We have a Proshop on-site where you can purchase leotards, shorts and other miscellaneous apparel!
